I have a 3-1/4 yr old son who is very active physically since the time he was born. He is also tall and above avg smart for his age. After the age of 3 he is not much interested in playing with us (parents) but wants to play with other kids. (Surprisingly, I guess) other kids his age dont want to play with him. I have noticed that either they are not yet completely out of the parallel play phase (where they play by themselves but around others and dont play directly with other kids) or they have formed a pair with some other kid and dont want to play with my son. Older kids as it is, most of the times, dont want to play with kids younger to them, as we all know. My son is ready to play with any other kid but unfortunately, has not found anyone who would play with him without their parent' s intervention (which most of the times parents dont do). [Not imp to mention but incase, you need that bit of info too which might help in analyzing the problem and getting a solution - he is quite good looking and lot of people gush over him when they see him saying he will grow into a very handsome guy.] How do I help him? Pl advise. Is it a normal passing phase or can this possibly adversely impact his psyche?
