of the many links i went through on the this topic, this is the most lucid and focused one. i am writing diary for the last 6 months.at times it becomes necessary to seek motivation when the monotonous phase of life takes away the zing out of diary writing.maintaining a habit productively requires diversification. you should add more detail on the importance of 'introspective' type writing vis a vis the 'descriptive' type.i believe a judicious combination of both works, adjusted to the personality and situations.both have their benefit in childhood and adulthood alike. for young children this habit has an additional value: it helps capture and relive the memories of childhood. it is a developmental panorama over time:including change in the perception and thought, memories and even change in handwriting! they become so valuable as time passes- justifying the adage "old is gold".

i have been wrinting a diary since i was ten . i may not write in it daily but yes on some days i do . more than anyting , it is ab avebue for me to exhailate all feelings and just let out any thing i want to verbalise . ther are ofcourse the emotions that are shown by the many tear stained pages in the diary . well when i read through some enteries years and years hence ...... i often end up laughing at my own experiences . being more mature now i think of how foolish i'd been .
