6 Facts You Must Know About Parental Involvement

Parental involvement is necessary for creating a positive impact on child’s development. Here are 6 facts which you must know about the power of parental involvement.

Parental involvement is of utmost importance during the growth period of children. The parents at home and the teachers at school are the real mentors in life of children. Whatever they are taught in the school should be double checked by the parents at home, and then only they learn things perfectly. Parental involvement plays a very important role in the life of children. Here are 6 facts you must know about the power of parental involvement.

1. Achievement Improves

When parents get involved in their child’s academics it is seen that their achievement improves in a higher scale. When children come to know what their parents expect from them, to meet these expectations of their parents they try harder to do better. This urge keeps the kids in the front row always and parents become happy to see their children at the top of the list always.

2. Encourages Learning

When kids find out that their parents are also taking interest in their matters and are spending time solving problems with them they become extremely happy. It encourages kids to take interest in studies. In schools also if kids are exposed to a homely environment teaching them becomes much easier. Kids can easily relate to the environment and take up things quite easily. They learn things in a much faster pace without much effort on the part of the teachers.

3. Improves Problem Solving

During the growth years kids go through different stages of mental development. They experience mood swings every now and then. Sometimes they become so depressed that they even need proper counselling to solve the problems. Parental involvement at this stage is of utmost importance. Parents can understand their kids like no one else. The involvement of parents also helps in knowing the problems of their kids and to give a proper solution to that. Kids also feel free to talk about their problems with their parents.

4. Inculcates Proper Discipline in Kids

Proper parental involvement helps in teaching the kids proper discipline. Teaching kids the proper discipline is the responsibility of the parents at home and of the teachers at school. A proper disciplined child manages to tackle every problem skilfully without much hassle.

5. Develops Awareness to Avoid Wrong Doings

It is common that kids make mistakes knowingly or unknowingly and it is the responsibility of the parents as well as the teachers to bring them back to the right track. Monitoring the activities of the kids daily helps parents to keep an eye on their activities. It also prevents kids from going haywire when they know that they are being continuously monitored and all their activities are being looked into continuously by their parents.

6. Ensures Safety of Kids

When the parents continuously monitor the activities of their children they can save their kids if they fall prey in the hands of the wrong doers of the society. Parents can keep a check on the kids and see whether they are being used by the malicious people. They can keep a track on the heinous activities of those wicked people and can easily teach them a lesson.
In many cases these people roam freely even after committing the most heinous of crimes just due to the lack of evidences against them. But if you have proper evidences you can put those people behind bars. So, proper involvement is very important to save thousands of kids.
No matter how busy you are in your daily chores, it is very important to spend some quality time with your kids at the end of the day when you come home. Your children need your attention and involvement. Then only they can be free and candid with you and will dare to share their problems with you.

Why is it necessary for parents to be involved in every stage of child’s development? What are the benefits of parental involvement? What are the effects of lack of parental involvement? Discuss here.
