Tips for Raising an Intelligent Child

Here are some tips for helping your child grow well and grow as an intelligent child.

Interact with your Child

Scientists have observed that the babies who were not shown love or their parents did not play with them showed underdeveloped brain growth as compared to those who got proper attention from their parents. This is also one of the reasons that will help your child grow into an intelligent child. Play with him and make him feel loved. He must feel assured of your love and this will fill in confidence in him. Playing, loving, hugging and interacting with your child will have immense effects on improving his intelligence level.

Talk to Your Child

Start talking to your child even when he simply gives absurd reactions. This will help him develop language skills. You must also listen to your child when he talks. Do not interrupt in the middle. Correct him afterwards and that too very politely. Children get hurt even by words very easily and this might turn him to become an introvert individual.

Activities of your Child’s Interest

Do not engage your child in any summer activity just because you want him to do that or develop that skill. Try to find his talent and interest and let him explore whether he wishes to develop that skill or not.

Limit the Television Time

This will help your child from getting distracted to unfruitful works in life. Try to select intellectual channels and let him watch and learn different things.

Read Out to your Child

Read with your child. If you will read out to him he will understand the way of reading and catch right pronunciation as well. You can ask him read out a small part for you and appreciate his way of reading first and then gently point out the mistakes.

Make Use of Dictionary

Teach your child to make use of the dictionary as early as possible. Using dictionary will help your child learn new words at an early age, improve vocabulary and have good command over language.

Monitor the Use of Internet

Let your child explore and learn whatever he wants through internet. But at the same time you need to monitor the usage too. This is because children get distracted very easily.

If you keep in mind these points you will find that it is easy to raise an intelligent child. On the other hand you can also increase the level of intellect in your child by paying attention to these points. Also pay attention to their diet and extra curricular activities. Keep an eye on all of the activities of your child so that you can understand the field of interest and also watch out whether he is getting sidetracked or not.
