Fun Party Games

Fun Party Games

At the next party, introduce your kids to some fun, new games they are sure to love.
Here are some new games you can introduce your kids to at the next party. They are fun and just slight variations of games they already know and love. So read on and ensure that your child has an unforgettable birthday party.

Lock and Key

Instead of a child sitting down just before he is tagged by the den to avoid getting out, he should freeze in exactly the position he is in. Another player can unfreeze him if he crawls through the frozen child's legs. If the child freezes himself so no one can pass through his legs, he needs to remain frozen for the entire game. If he moves, he's out.

Maze

This game involves a bit of preparation, but it shouldn't take more than fifteen minutes. All you really need to do is to draw a maze on the floor with the help of chalk if you are outdoors, or masking tape if you are indoors. Pick out any maze from your child's activity book and make something along those lines. You can make it even more interesting by requiring each child to perform something different as he reaches different blocks along the way. You could keep notes at various dead ends asking a child to sing a song, state a poem, dance, and so on. Or, keep notes along the path and require anyone who passes by to get down on his knees and walk ten or twenty steps. Another note can require them to hop for twenty steps.

Pin the Tail

Pinning the tail on the donkey is almost always fun but for a change you could consider playing darts. Every child gets three turns, and the child who gets bulls eye or who hits the dart closest to the centre can win a prize. This game is ideal if you already have a dartboard at home, but if you don't, there is no point running around complicating your life trying to get hold of one. Simply stick with pinning the tail on the donkey.

Race

Racing is fun, but it's even more fun when it's done backwards. Let the kids form groups of five and race, because any more than that and it's going to be too chaotic - with everyone bumping into each other. As it is the five children will have trouble sticking to their course, leading to loads of fun and laughter as other children cheer them on to the finish line.

Dance

Have a dance competition! Dance is almost always a part of a child's birthday party, but rarely is it in a competitive mode. Give a prize to the best dancer and who knows; perhaps the prize will urge them on to bigger and better things!

And finally…

Make it a point not to have sweets in your khoee bag. There is no end to the number of sweets and chocolates children consume. Instead, you could include things like erasers, pencils, rulers, tiny toys, squiggly thick plastic straws that children can drink their milk from everyday… there is no end to the options.
