Just like any other parent you want to prepare your child well for the school. If you are trying to teach your toddler to recognize alphabets and finding it difficult, read on to learn how you can do this in creative ways.

Teaching alphabets to toddlers means preparing them for reading and writing. Learning alphabets is very important for kids. Some learn it very fast while some take time and repeated teaching. There are some creative ways with the help of which you can quicken the process and your child will enjoy everything as well.

7 Creative Ways to Teach Alphabets to Toddlers

Here are 7 simple ways to teach alphabets to your toddler and encourage early learning.

  1. Sing Alphabet Rhyme

Toddlers love to hear their moms singing. If you sing the alphabet rhyme or song to your child, it will be the coolest way to introduce him to the letters. This you can start as early as possible because as he grows little older he will join you. You can also play the song on different gadgets and let your child enjoy it with music also.

  2. Read Book of Alphabets

This is in fact the second stage because once the child gets used to of pronouncing letters he will be able to recognize them better. Usually, these books are available with the respective pictures with each alphabet in the market. Starting with these books you can make a book of your own involving your kid while doing that. Take a blank drawing book and either cut alphabets from magazines and paste on each page with the pictures or draw them in different colours.

  3. Foam Letters

There are alphabets available in market that are made of foam and are pretty big in size. When the letters will be huge and colourful your kid will love to recognize and bring the specific letters when asked to you. You can play the game with your child which will help him or her learn alphabets while playing. You can also enjoy with the letters by putting some in the bath tub and let your child recognize them.

  4. Pay Attention on Pronunciation

When you are teaching alphabets to your child do not forget to help him or her  learn it with right pronunciation. Remember, for this you need to give your child enough time. If you lack some you can have your child around when you are doing household chores but make sure you give his safety first priority.

  5. Play with Alphabet Puzzles

Alphabet puzzles are great to help your child learn about them. You can get them at any store. Refrigerator magnets can also be very helpful here. With the letters your child will be able to recognize them easily.

  6. Write His or Her Name

You can do this activity on the door of his room so that he or she recognizes the letters that are used in his name. You can make use of the initial letters to help him or her find out how many things he or she can remember starting with that letter. You can do this for his or her friends also.

  7. Make Alphabet Eatables

Every toddler loves cookies. Nowadays alphabet cutters are available in the market. Use them to make cookies or any other favourite eatable of your toddler of different alphabets and ask your child to recognize one and then have it. Let your child decide which letters he or she wants to eat at that time and let him o her find it.

When you are helping your toddler to learn alphabets you have to be patient. Do not compare him or her with any other child of same or younger age in neighbourhood. Some kids learn faster than others. You should mix some of the letters in the second stage of learning because if you do not review he will forget them.
