Hello All,
I am reading these posts after a gap of few days. Actually this sunday My Bhabhi came to visit me and we got busy. You girl gave us food for thought..So We decided to go out and spend time like you advused. We have a Barista coffee joint just 2 blocks forom my house. I never walsk even 2 blocks as I am afraid of aggreviating my arthiritis. But my bhabhi encorahed and to go someplace nice. I have never been to Barista my whole life, though I have heard its good place for coffee..hamare zamane mein Delhi ka Union coffee house hua karta tha jahan sab \";intellectuals\"; aate the...writers, painters and theter personalities..discussionhot atha politics se lekar weather tak..aur chai coffee ke rounds..So I thought Let me try gain..And after more than 2 decades I went to a coffee house..I was surprised to see all young people there..Kids i should say..All were looking at us(two old birds with white hair!!)..But we had good time..there was a guitar player there with big hair who helped us select a nice coffee..(as i was awre of only simple coffee)..there wre lates, cappucinos, mochas et cetc..He was a nice fellow..he teaches in a music csholl and doing studies..He had coffee with us..Monady he came to visit me with his girlfriend..They were cute guys..and she has promised to bring me some books from DPL (delhi public library)..Its far from my house and I can't drive or travle by auto so far..(she is a daughter of my fellow professor..I never met her before!) I think its a small world..
I told her about my new adventure on internet...she said its common thing these days..like blogs where people share thier thought..But for me its a whole new world..
anyways..I had great time last week..Thouhj my bahu didn't like a wierdo guitar player and a girl visiting me..but I just kept quite and ddn't argue with her..
I am so thankful to SWIFTJYOTI, a programme by NIIT to teach internet to housewife and senior citizens like me. My DIls were so angry when I had joined the course last year but I knew its a new thing and will help me someday..and it did..I met this forum and really changed the status of my mind..My bhabhi was actually laughing ki ye net par to jawaan log baithte hain itni der tak..tum budhape mein naya shauk laga rahi ho..
Its late here..abhi I will trun off the computer..
Is forum ki sab batriyon ko dheron pyar..
Tumhari aunty,
Mrs Sharma

Hello Aunty
I am so so glad that you had a good time. Your tryst with Barista really made me smile...way to go!
See there is so much fun out there and I am so glad that you are making that special effort to keep yourself occupied and enjoying in the process...
As far as your DIL's are concerned, just ignore their bad behaviour-not worth your attention...

Love and Regards to you!

Wow Mrs. Sharama,

I am impressed. Keep up the spirit.
Delhi has changed a lot now and its good you managed some friends. As you mentioned last time, you are in South Delhi, Please go to Dilli haat with your bhabhi in evening. Have some nice food and enjoy.

Also, try going out to movies. Or if you are interested go to shopping malls, have you been to Ansals?

I always suggest my parents the same way who are in delhi and last time I visited India, they took me to these places.

Stay happy and be busy.

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
