Hi,

I had been diagnosed with abdominal TB two yrs back, (after a laproscopy was done the infection was found) treatment etc is all done. Post treatment I got HSG done and was informed one tube was patent.

I have been trying to conceive since 3-4 months. I was informed during a recent ultrasound scan (taken as a routine checkup considering my history and I moved countries in the mean time) there is a 8x4x3 cyst adjacent to the right ovary and a small fibroid 2.3 cm near the uterine lining (not penetrating in the uterus but minimally pressing it against the lining).

My Gyno has over-reacted a bit since I told my history anyway now she suggests I should get a surgery done and remove the cyst and the fibroid. Unfortunately the cyst has appeared at the side where my tube is patent. I was thinking laproscopy should be enough as its minimally invasive but she says a proper surgery has to be done. The cyst does not look abnormal yet I agree its good to get it off, but is a proper surgery recommended? I would be grateful if you could give your comments and views.
