Thanks a lot for the advice..I have been given HCG injection and was told that this is for bursting of the egg.. so this was given to me yesterday, i.e 5th of Aug at 10:30 am and you tell me that it will burst after 48 hours.. So my IUI is scheduled on 7th Aug at 10 am. Is this the right time? Is the timing ok? There are two follicles that are seen? Does this mean there are two eggs?? Or is this the general thing that there will be two follicles. By the way, my HCG was for 10,000 mg and the doc who gave me the injection told me that 10,000 is too high. Is this ok? Please answer ALL my questions... please.. sowdha replied. hi,
good to hear u have started on the procedure. The 2 follicles does not matter, finally only one will burst and approximately within 36-48 hrs. Sometimes u might be able to find out also, a pain in ur lower abdomen, but dont bother u might not notice it also, after chkg tht the egg has been released within 12 hrs u will be given the treatment so not exactly at 10 a.m. depends on ur doc also. I was also given 10000 HCG inj, dont worry. Finally have faith in god and dont worry too much abt it and dont loose hope even if u do not conceive this time as they say ur chances of becoming pregnant increases with the no. of times u do IUI, but most docs do not go further beyond say 4 or 5 iui' s. I became pregnant in my 3rd session of IUI, so all the very best.

I have undergone IVF. HCG shot is given in IVF too. It is said, the egg releases from 36-48 hrs after the HCG shot.
Number of follicles does not always represent the number of eggs. Ideally each follicle will have egg. ut at times there may be follicles which do not have matured egg.
HCG units dose depends on doctor. I was asked to take 5000 units, but I know many in the same clinc who were asked to take 10000 units.
