Role of in-laws:Moment of laugh!!

Friends,
for a change, why dont we just start a new link and share our comedy scenes with inlaws and have a moment of laugh to lighten our day!!!
Well, to start with here goes my comedy experience.
My MIL always keeps saying to me and my hubby that after she dies her photo should be hung right in the entrance of our house in the living room. BTW she has also selected which photo she wants us to blow up (in which she has done a hairdo with jewelry, silk saree and all!!!) how is that. Meanwhile she has not bothered to keep her own inlaws photos in our house and she has kept her parents photos in her cupboard closed.!!
So she kept on telling this again and again and once my hubby got really irritated and you know what he said: Mama, if we keep your photo at that place it is very high to reach and your DIL (refering to me) wont do pooja and keep flowers to your photo so we will also keep the photo inside a cupboard where she can reach you easily!!! oh God I can never forget this scene. Strangely she didnt open her mouth at all!!!

Guys too funny... I am laughing my heads off...
Here is another one.
My sil lives close by so needless to say she just walks into our house anytime she wants and expects us to be waiting with our kids wide awake to give her grand welcome.
Also my husband's whole family is so worried about what he eats that their is a big scene when he eats. There are so many people fussing over him.
Once my sil came over and just then me and my husband sat down to eat. It was so funny that on one side his mom was standing and serving him and on the other side his sister was serving his plate. It is so annoying when you are eating and so many people standing on your head. Khair they never bother to see whether I ate anything or not. Well I took a shot at them and said, 'Oh looks like the king is eating and attendants are there to serve him'. Oh my! they got so mad that they walked away from there and sat down in the family room. My husband got mad too at my comment and did'nt eat much of his dinner. Everybody's mood was so off. And I had so much fun. It was payback time for them coz usually its the other way round.
Take Care guys
Saheli

It was my weekend call to my IL's place. I asked them what they were doing and my FIL said that they were watching my SIL's marriage video. Then as an after-thought he added,\";We just finished watching your wedding.\";
I was about to burst laughing but said,\";Are you sure...because that Video cassette is with me! I took it last time I was there!\";
There was pin drop silence...:)
I changed the topic, didnt want to embarrass him further.

Hi Life ,
Thats was really funny . Keep up the good work . Sharing funnies is a great idea .

When My Mil was here in USA during my delivery . She gave me a horrible time with her rude comments crticizing everything etc etc . I used to cry everyday all alone in my room .

One day I saw her crying , yeah tears and all with big drama. I asked her what happened she said SHE REMEMBERED THAT HER INLAWS TREATED HER SO BADLY.

Oh God !! Imagine the scene .... !!

Hey, that's hilarious! My MIL is exactly like your MIL. Except she doesn't talk who's photos she wants after her death. She deosn't talk about dying at all. But for sure she has her mom and dad's pictures in her cupboard, living room, bedroom, kitchen everywhere in the house (except bathroom) and no sign of my FILs' parent's picture. I wonder how he tolerates this! But who would dare to take \";takkar\"; with her!

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
