I agree totally with the replies given. Each baby has a unique dietary reqtt. and will eat or drink only as much as reqd. Ur only parameter to chk on the baby's progress shd be the weight. But again each baby wd weigh a lil more or less depending on the birth weight. Ur baby's doc shd be the best person to tell u what's the rt wt. But at 10 mnths baby wd be in the range of 8-9 kg and shd eat 3 solids a day. try feeding little portions every 2-3 hrs.

Hi Worried Mom,

I have 7 months old baby girl and she also drinks exactly around 15-18ox milk daily similar to Durba's kid. I was also very worried initially and I was told by many friends that it is normal for Indian babies. So do not get panicked by comparing your baby's daily milk intake with what doctors in US tell you.

So, I also think, along with balance solid foods, this much milk intake should be sufficient.

Just don't worry....

Please dont worry abt this. However feeding 24 ounces of milk apart from solid is too much. When my baby girl was 10 months ( now she is 15 months) I gave her around 15-18 oz milk daily .. so she had plenty of space for solid. Howver she had milk based solid also.. like rawa kheer in milk, nachni kheer in milk or oats in milk.Plus Curd. So her dairy requirements and other protien and iron requirement was also met in this way. Now she has around 8-9 oz milk ( as plain milk) daily .
