i have been a silent follower of the board.i need a help from all of u.
my boy who is six months today.bw 3.3 current weight 7.8kgs.
his diet chart:
7 am : formula 9 0z
9 am: banana puree or apple pie 2-3 tbspns
after bath 11.30: formula 9 oz and sleep for 2 hrs
2.00: whole moong dhal pressure cooked for 2 whistles and blended with pressure cooked 4 spinach leaves(without cooked water) and little ghee.(introduced only yesterday)- soup form- 2-3 tbspns.
after sleep 5.00pm: pear puree 2-3 tbspns
7.00pm: Diluted baby pear juice 4-5 oz(since he was constipated for the past two days due to ragi kanji,so i stopped ragi kanji,which i used to give in the early mornings)
9 pm: tomato soup(1 tomato boiled/mashed/strained and added equal amounts of water 6 0z) with little salt(i introduced this soup ten days back,and he didnt show any refluxes,so i continued with it)
11 pm: formula 9 0z
3am: formula 7oz
since i introduced the whole moong dhall khichidi
with spinach yesterday,he didnt have proper sleep and woke up twice and felt uneasy.
1.is it due to the spinach as it contains nitrate?? should i stop using spinach with khicidi?? or can i add any other veggies with it that doesnt consipate?? if so how much veggie to add and how to prepare it??
2. i like to start a solid feed for dinner replacing the tomato soup.any suggestions?? or can i start with cerelac?? if so,cerelac rice or cerelac fruit?? can veggies can be added to cerelac?? boiled and mashed??
3.can almonds be given to infants??like...soak it in hotwater to peel off the skin and mashed and used with any semisolid meal??
help needed plz!!

9 am : offer iron fortified cereal with some puree of fruits or your child fav fruits..start offerng varieties of fruits.
see the chart below on what all to offer and in wat order :
2noon : instead of moongdaal,,add in rice 1:1prop and make khichadi,,offerwhatever vegies you have introducd,,throw them in cooker itself ! do the tadka of ghee, curryleaves(pwderd,or dry or remove before serving or mash well before servng), some jeera pwder, hing ...and its a healthy one.
5noon - pear puree,,offer other fruits as well,,offer diluted juice(if you are givng pear, offer pear puree with water),,,qty and all is well explained in chart above.
7pm - avoid offerng raagi in night time,esp dinners,,instead offer it as an alternatve to khichadi in daytime and let the night time be khichadi or rice cooked with vegies,,or best is offer raagi in morning time,as breakfast as an alternative to iron fortified cereal.
avoid offerng juices before dinner.
you are already offrng fruit one serving,,dont double it,,let one of the times,,say 5pm be the juice time with a new vegetable to be introduced or so,,,aftr gvng pear puree you are again offerng him pear juice.avoid repeating same type of fruits or vegies,,start introducng more vegies, n fruits,perweel.
9pm, avoid offerng tomato soup at night,,if you want to offer,,offer it at 7pm instead of pear juice,,,which will solve the purpose...do a lil tadka in it with ghee and crushed jeera pwder, hing in it,,,it will increaase your baby apettite...
rest all is fine.
its unlikely that spinach gives ne kind of disturbed sleep,,its the wholemoong dal (that i see in your chart that it does nt have rrice ! ),,that might be botherng him,,also,to add you can offer him whole moong khichadi(whole moong plus rice with tadka of hing, curryleaves only),,and he will feel better stomach wise,,and its lightest of all !!

try offerng the vegies that you offer in khichadi from next day, after your child has shown complete acceptnce to it,,without ne alleriges(say 3-4days of introduction of new vegies),,,
adding spinach to khichadi is always a good practice !
2. avoid offerng cerelac at night times,,instead offer it in lunches,and give khichadi with spinach and other vegies(avoid sweetpotato or carrot or potato at nighttimes),,,or offer cerelac as breakfast alternative with some fruit puree or let it be your baby lunch !
add puree,,if you are adding fruit puree or vegie puree to cerelac,give with water or diluted juice only.
3. avoid offerng almonds as of now. your child is 6months,,its too early for him to digest it,,and not to mention he will not get all that maxima benefits that almonds givs !

plz keep changing the vege do not continue only one vege and start using ltl of hing in khichadi btw khichadi never gives constipation ..we elders also have khichadi if we dont feel bad.
no its not becoz of spinach and u can add any veg ltl bit (like peas,grated carrt, some times tomato, potato anyvege available in very less quantity)before giving mash it properly.
yes u can start with cerelac or u can give daliya also very very good .
and yes u can start almonds but better if u probably grate it or (ghis sakti ho kisi rough surface per jaisey chopping board) and then from ur finger u can make him lick it. do it in the morning time so that for rest of the day he will be able to digest it.
