Hello all,

I am based in the US but visiting Chennai with my 3 month old daughter. I am trying to decide the right time to pierce her ears. I can get it done easily in the US but they use less than 22K gold. I would prefer to use 22K since it is the least allergy causing.

Can you offer any tips about this? Is she too young to get it done? Where are the good and hygenic places to get it done in Chennai? Our family jeweller is now too old to pierce ears so I am unsure where to go. Or should I wait until she is older. I will appreciate any comments.

I had my son's ( yes, a family tradition to pierece boys too !) in GRT when he was around 6 mos old. Had no problems except soe crying at the time of piercing but that was not bcoz of pain but unfamilair people and surroundings. Had no problems at all.

And GRT is reliable for the gold also.

You can contact your pediatrition about this.usually they do this.and they do it in jewelery shops too,like GRT etc.but doctors clinic is safe.you can do it for 3 month old baby,because i did it for my daughter when she was 28 days old.
