hi....my daughter is 10 months old now but from the last one and a half month she is getting up very frequently in her sleep both during day time and night time. She passes air all the times. my be her stomach is up set or something( feed) is not suiting her. We have tried give her colic aid but of no use. We have also stopped giving her cows milk which we started recently....still everything is same.
Her Diet is
1. 9.30 am Banana( 12, 34 or 14)
or Fig or chiku
2. 12.00pm nachni satva or wheat satva

3. 2.30pm khichadi( rice+ mung dal+carrots)

4. 5.30pm cerelac 3 scoops in milk or water

5. 8.30pm suji kheer or nachni kheer(1/2 katori)

6. night khichdi (sometimes is skipped)

breast feed all the times she gets up at night.

Her sleep is also only 11 hrs . Please suggest some solution to our problems.
Her weight is 8 kgs now at 10 months of age.

Thanks
alka

hi ! there ! well, with my first one, the doctor told me to mix cow milk (that was after the 12th month) with formul and feed so that the tummy gets used to the cow's milk. so u can try that ! and little gas is formed with new foods - that's a fact but stomach ache and other allergy symptoms should be discussed with the doctor. and about breastfeeding at night - if u want to sleep and want your child to sleep thru the night then u must formula feed the baby and this habit will continue as the baby grows smarter. so think about it ! u can pump the milk and mix it with formula to her at night ! i just had a second 8 months back and with one already there to attend to i have now moved out of my baby's room and now beleive me it's getting better for the both of us ! i breastfeed during the day and try to make it up for the night ! it's taken me sooooo long to do this as i didn't have the heart to leave him in the bed alone but one has to be practical ! so discuss it with the doctor if it's a problem !! all the best !!

hi ! i was trying to explain that after 6 mnths of age most kids should sleep at a straight stretch of 6 hrs. some do and some have to be trained. basically their tummy has tobe trained and also mentally. since kids r breastfed the sucking motion soothes them and help them sleep but again since breastmilk is light it doesn't keep their tummies full for a long time so they get up again and the whole cycle doesn't break. with my daughter i was formula feeding only for the night soon after 4 mnths of age and it worked so well - slept thru the night. and now with my son i didn't do so as he didn't take bottle till his 6 mnth so it was late so i was breastfeeding and sleeping next to him. so two things went wrong - his tummy didn't fill and he liked the sucking motion. and ofcourse the comfort of sleeping with me. so now i just moved out of his room. first night was bad............. but the 2nd and the subsequent days have been good and i feel fresh after sleeping 5 hrs. of sleep and he seems fresh too. i give him his last bottle whenever i go to sleep and then give him one in the morning around 6-7. so all i am saying is u have to train the child. well it least in my case. all the best ! must consult your doc also. pl.

hi ! again ! some friends of mine tried 2% milk since it's easier for the child to digest so u can try that too ! it might work ! whole milk is a little too much for the tummy to digest ! everychild is differet. but u must consult the doctor ! all the best !
