Hello Hetal,I have a 5 month old baby.I used to Feed him my BM till 4 months then i started with sprouted Raagi and formula in a bottle ,he likes to have raagi cereal but refuses formula(lactogen) in bottle,He starts crying as soon as i get bottle near him,I'm worried,I have to start working from 27th this month,but still bottle feeding is not practised,plz gimme some suggestions.

eagerly waiting for your reply prao replied. Hetal has given u a lot of useful advice but thought I would share my exp too since I went thru the same problem just a month back.
When I introduced the bottel at 4 months my daughter hated both the formula (lactogen 1) and the bottle.

She used to drink fruit juice every afternoon (spoon feeding). I started offering this feed in a bottle i.e I would first give her the bottle, let her suck as much as she wants and when she starts crying I would pacify her and then feed the remaining juice using a spoon. After a week of trying this she accepted the bottle and started emptying it without crying

Getting her used to the formula was a lot more difficult.. I would give her a spoon or two of formula abt 3 or 4 times a day just so that she gets used to the taste. Then I started giving it in a bottle. Even now she doesnt drink more than 1 oz of formula at a time

Let me know if some other brand works for you.
Good luck.. Hetal replied. since he likes formula with raagi,,reduce the raagi,increase with formula liquid,,thin it out ! see if slow transition helps him develop the taste of formula.

2. try changing the brand of formula,,might help.dont change the type(like milk based to soy based),,try changng the brand !

3. get a good breastpump and pump the milk and start storing it for your child,,continue doing that, until he is comfortable with formula,,you have very less time left so only thing advisable is, pump the milk, offer in wide neck bottle,,his acceptance to it will be greater thn to acceptance for formula by 27th of this week !! see how he accepts and thn transfer him to formula slowly//mix formula and bm with 10% formula and 90% bm and then increase the formula amt from 10% to 90%,,and decrease the bm from 90% to 10% !!! ONLY,,if you think your supply is going slow..,,continue night feeds or whenever you are back home from work !

and if possible take electric or manual breastpump//watever fits your budget and watever type of resting/facility or moms area your job/office provides,,, alongwith you with some good quality icepacks,,pump his feeds during your office hours,,whenever you are full, and let your supply continue ! store it well and all the guidelines about storing, thawing or freezng is available nicely on medella website,,so follow it !
whenever time permits,,,go thru these tips on weaning :
