thanks for ur advice. I went to the doctor and the doctor asked me to give him dulcolax suppository. I gave him the same and thankfully he has gone without colicaid since the last three days. My conclusion is that he ought to pass stool every two days instead of 5 else he again gets gas and keeps on crying(even while sleeping). Is this normal? I feel guilty using the laxative and alll the more bad when i have to give him colicaid. Since he is majorly breastfed(1 bottle feed at night) i have been told that once in 5 day bowel movement is fine. But what shuld i do if on the third day itself he starts feeling cranky and gassy? The doctor has adviced to use the laxative sparingly. which is the lesser evil here the laxative or colicaid?? i dont want my son to be dependent on anything

also i have tried to aid him pass his stool by applying soap in his rectum.

regarding the nipple i am using for bottle feed...its 0-3, pigeon nipple

do let me know if u know of any home remedies to relieve him.

I think the safest thing is to carry on using the dulcolax - it' s not addictive because it doesn' t affect the whole bowel, and as long as it helps the baby \" do\" every day, it' s doing her good! because i dont see that you have tried em. i would feel uncomfortable in givng ne more home remedies only because your child is 2months old,,its not advsble to rely on home remedies.....check my answer to your query in prev post of yours,,i have talked about somethings and see if it helps herr.
if your dr has recmnded you laxative to use sparingly,,go accordngly. when the situation is worst, all medicines are the bliss,,so comparng them is no good.
laxative oftn aids baby digestn and makes its digestive system get habituatd,,while colic aid has not given ne such results...so you decide what you want to offer !
of colic aid makes him feel better, thn he is gettng gas coz of infant colic as i mentioned in post before..unless its the pure case of constipatn...drink lots of fluids,,include a feed of water in your baby feedings like inbetween feeds,,see if it helps...

i dont have anything for 2months old, thn what i suggested before(my 2nd reply to your prev post),,,if that doesnt seem to work, your child needs an aid to depend on, atleast until his digestives are mature enough.
i had asked you to try to bottle feed during day time,,did you try that..i still dont see ne such details...see if helps him...instead bf at night as often as required...

if you are usng pigeon nipple, its unlikely that nipple is the cause,,and hence all these pointers lead to one thing that your child needs an aid.
so go by your dr, and if it makes you feel better, take a second opinion..sometimes change in medication or brand by other dr,,helps to resolve the issues and other dr might see something that can cure your child uneasiness...
