Foetal Growth Movements:Baby movements

I am pregnant with my first baby and I am six months along. I have started feeling the baby move but not sure how many kicks I should feel per day or per hour. I have been told that if the baby does not move for certain times per day I need to call the doctor but I am not sure how many time it should kick.

Hi Nirupama,

At this stage (still in second trimester), baby should move and kick, both. It will have developed some time pattern, keep watch on that and see it moves more than 10 times or kicks more than 10 times in about 2 hours. Not necessarily each 2 hours but when it is supposed to.

Again some Drs. don't get so much concerned and you need to have advice of your Dr. Mine does not get very concerned and it's OK with me.

Dear PR.,

I was the first to repond your Chandi thing in September board. I don't know much.
But if you feel less movement always concern your Dr. he/she can monitor hearbeats and guide you more.

If your baby moves though slow there is less to worry. But tell your Dr. full story how you got the movement reduced. I think everything should be OK in your case.

Do not wait for an appointment. Ask your Dr. to have you seen in a few hours or on the same day.

If you feel movements your baby is likely be fine. Still you need to talk to your Dr. I really wish I knew a lot about your concern.

fetal movement

Hi Archie

I belong to the Sept board and currently in middle of 5th month(21st week).

I have already made a query about safety of having silver leak/chandi warak over kaju burfi in the board.Kindly update me on that.

You have mentioned in response to Nirupama's query to understand a pattern for baby's movement.Till monday I was feeling the movement quite ofen but last 3 days I am not feeling any active movement.I sometime move my fingers softly over my tummy to check if there is any movement but hardly feel any. I am worried that silver leaf could cause some problem.
Please advice me.I am very much worried.Till now I couldnot draw a definite pattern for fetal movement.
Looking forward to your advice.
