Foetal Growth Movements:Suji Halwa during First Trimester??
2009-03-02
Name: Rashmi

I am about 10 weeks weeks pregnant and I just ate a bowl of Suji Halwa that was made of desi ghee (avoided the nuts in between). However, now I am feeling guilty that I should have avoided the halwa altogether as it is a ' garam' thing and can lead to miscarriage but I did not realize this when I ate it. I am so worried and cursing myself now. Pl. someone tell me if it was ok or its something to be concerned. I had a miscarriage before so a lot worried.

Hi Rashmi,
Are you sure that suji halwa would be the reason for miscarriage. But even though you need to take care for further pregnancy.

Hi Rashmi,
I too do not know much about that suji halwa. You just remember only one thing i it is easily digestible and it must not create any acidity problem to you.I wish you would do that.

Hi Rashmi,
When you are conceived you can take any type of food. But do remember only one thing that do not take food or fruits which would generate heat content in the body.

Hi Rashmig
One bowl of halwa is not going to harm you. so there is nothing to worry about. It is just in your head because you have already had a miscarriage before.

hi rashmi,

first of all u can anything in pregnancy. there is no ' garam' thing.
you can eat all the fruits and nuts. infacts nuts are good for u, have a small bowl of all nuts. if u eat nuts baby will not have any nut allergie in future. forget about papaya, pineapple. eat whatever u like.
i was told also do not eat this or that. but my doctor told me eat anything and i live in canada.those are all old wife tales.
do not eat excessive. have a balanced diet and drink lots of juices and water do prenatal yoga.
before pregnancy i was 120lbs and i went up to 165lbs. my baby was 9.1lbs.
and i lost it all. so don' t worry and enjoy ur pregnancy. eat little bit of ghee, becasue too much ghee will put lots of fat around ur hips and thighs. eat whatever u feel like to eat.

take care.

Congrats .. !
There is no food believed to cause miscarriage.. Any food in moderation is always good for your pregnancy ..
Ofcourse there is some food like papaya, pineapple, raw meat (bacteria in it) and fish like tuna that contains high in mercury is to be avoided ..
Enjoy your pregnancy .. Have a healthy pregnancy ..

hey ananya this is really a very sensitive case and you should think about it before hand as in what the child would think in future as he or she grows up. Or else you will have to do counselling of the child at the right time.... - ridhi [View Message]
