Working Mother:childrens tantrums of working mother

I have two children aging 7yrs and 3 yrs. I am an office goer. I feel that the children of working mother shows more tantrums and are more aggressive/possessive than the mothers who stay with them at home.

I have the same experience with some bad behaviour from my daughter (age 6). Of course she likes it if I buy sweets, go to cinema etc as children are quite materialistic. If you are working, the weekends are for your rest and preparation for the week too, not just to entertain children, the children will be happy to work in the kitchen or the garden or sew with you, they just want a lot of your time and attention and to be next to you. When you need to do things by yourself or even to lie down and have a rest you can put a video on for them. They dont like to be dragged around shops and they dont really care what they eat or what they wear as long as their mummy is happy.

hi
i am a daughter of working mother and now i am married , mother of 4 months old baby .in my family all relatives (mothers ) areworking . and i strongly feel that childen of working mothers are more good performers and self dependents. i have seen it very closely .
we all werre more efficient and hard working brother and sisters as we helped our mother in household work since our childhood
everychild has his own personality sodon't blame yourslf for that
a working mother can give her children much better guidance in their life and carrer.
so good luck . be happy and enjoy

I dont agree. You can guide your child to be less aggressive and possessive by giving them a little quality time and rewarding them for good behaviour and punishiong them for bad behaviour. Maybe they are just getting that way because their negative behaviour geta your attention which is basically what every child wants...their mothers attention.

I know mothers who stay at home and their kids are aggressive too.

I think kids whose mothers are at work have qualities of independance and maturity.

Dont ever regret going to work and leaving your kids at home.

Just give them enough attention when you are at home and remember to reinforce good behaviour by praising it with hugs and loving words.
