my kid is 19 months old and does not speak.Few days back he used to say 2-3 words but then again has stopped saying them.I m worried,wht should i do,how 2 teach him 2 speak.Should i consult a doctor,or it takes time for some babies 2 talk.

2. involve your baby with other kids,,surrounding where there are lots of social interactions,,kids learn more from kids than they do from us.
3. make a habit to talk to him in normal language, as if you are talking to someone,,and not like you are talking to a child,,,he will learn that gradually...
4. kids have short memory,,repetition and practice makes them perfect ! so everytime you teach him new word, new colour or nething,,keep repeating it until he is able to speak or let me say use that words...thats your work until he turns 2-3years,,,and thatsjust how they rem using it often,,
5.create situations where he has to use those words,,,and yes consult your dr,,,at 18months kids are expected to speak at least 2-3words if not alot,,,so just make sure to visit and he might want to look into.
6.socialize,visit friends with kids,,public places,,give your baby exposure to lots of people,,and if all doesnt help,,give your baby to your dr,,,and do as he says !!
and yes, some kids started speaking soon after thr 2nd bdays,,so you might want to wait until then,,,and by then mingle him with other kids,,parks,kids corners and public places,,and such,,and see if helps you by then !
