hi everyone, i am a new member, i have a 2year old daughter and expecting my second baby. i just had my scan at 23 weeks and was told placenta is posterior low and anterior. i have been asked to come back at 32 weeks for another scan. if anyone was in a similar situation pls reply with your experience.


friend replied. I am having the same problem but doctor said that as long is cervix is clear and long there is no need to worry. There should not be any bleeding. take rest. good luck.. Mou replied. Hello J,

Many ladies have this problem detected at around 20 wks where they have a low lying placenta. I too had it in my 1st pg. Doc said that it may lead to spotting etc and suggested bed rest. HOWEVER she also said that this gets corrected in almost all the cases where with the advance of the pregnancy, your placenta will also move up. So when I did my next scan in 34th week, it was found to be much higher up and no coz for worry. So you have to wait for another couple of months to let it move up naturaly. And try to avoid physical exersions for some time.

Hi, My doc. has also told me a plcaenta problem.However, mine i different from u.. but not to worry, just keep a chk on baby movements (tht shud not decrease) and u' r diet. U' r next US will tell u if u' r baby is getting the required nutrition or not! bagshree replied. hey i had a same prob but my placenta wasnt to down my doc said it will go up i am in my 29 th week of pregnancy ....... tell me what problems u r having ? is ur doc asked u to take bed rest ??
