Hetal replied. try to wean your baby to formula by mixing breastfeed with formula and slowing reducing the amt of formula. it takes a while, some babies like mine took 1 whole week to accept it..
see try that.
about cows milk, its better to give at 1 year,,at 10months its just a month early..
i have known moms who will strech upto 11months to breastfeeding and then give directly cows milk,,as transition to cows milk is easier than formula(tastewise).
cows milk is more or less same taste like mothers milk ! so babies have not shown any resistence to accepting it, however you have to watch for ne allergies,or any discomfort in digestion of that milk..as cows milk is for sure heavier than bm or even formula !! so baby might be uncomfortable for a while if started earlier than 1 year.
basically, taste wise cows milk is easier to go for weaning, but by the digestion point of view, you have to consider the baby digestion capacity as well ! in that way, moving to formula is a better idea than switching to cows milk directly.
in SR case her baby didnt show any discomforts externally which means her baby apetite was able to hold watever other milk that she tried, which is shown in many babies as early as 8months onwards...
and so was my baby apetite,,i weaned herr to cows milk on 10 1/2month,first week she felt heavy in just one feed of 1oz,,she would skip her next mini meal..its was after 1 year, that now with all the three feeds of 5oz that she is able to drink milk and also eat properly,,so you might want to consider as one of results of introducing milk earlier than 1 year !! prob if i would have started at 1 year, she would have directly had 5oz and also she might have had all her meals nicely !! it depends..i wanted to avoid formula for the only reason that its not a natural produce.
i started, one day 1 oz cows milk, watched for her reactions as to how she goes,,continue that couple days,,,and then start with 2 oz !!and so on and by the time she was 1 year, she was on exact intake of ounces..
please note that my baby apetite might not be same as yours and your baby may show different signs of uneasiness or may be just fine & is able to hold the other milk !!! its different for all babies,,
see whatever suits you...its just a matter of 2months, its better to wait than take a chance :)
take care, good luck
SR replied. From what I have read, wait for some more time say 12 months to start outside milk.
Also, what milk are you giving and are you diluting it?

Doc says yes but whatever books I refer to they say wait for 12 months.
I tried giving him a bit and he doesnt seem to show any external effects of drinking it
