Behavioural Problems:speech trouble

my son is 2 yrs 10 months..he started speaking around the age of 21/2 yrs ( when he was 2 yrs 6 months )...he just speaks in words and not sentences..we have put him in playschool last month...he has learned alphabet and numbers from there ( can say 1234 till 10 and abcd till f and g )..we are malayali staying in delhi...we speak malayali at home and my son understands that ..can answer question what is ur name, age , school name , teacher name...).his paediatric has asked us to concentrate on one language so we are focussing on mother tounge.i am concerned when he will speak in sentences..any input from other mom in such situation is welcome...

You may want to consult a speech pathologist. Also have him checked out for developmental disorders. I think in such situations it is much better to teach English than Mother tongue because that is the language he will be educated in. Typically when kids have language disorders it is better to stick to one language also you will find a lot of resources online for speech therapy in English.
