Developmental Concerns:Delayed Speech

Hello All - My son has turned 4 last month and we are observing some delayed speech issues. I am not sure 100% sure if that is really an issue so thought to take an advice. We belong to a Hindi speaking family currently living in Pune. So our son has heared the mother tounge most of the times. Being into a nuclear family and spending most of the day time in day care, our son could not develop proper speech skills.

He used to listen much more than talk. His dictionary of words had very limited words. In the recent 2-3 months of time, he has suddenly and surprisingly started to speak many words and has also started making multiple sentences (some of his own and some that he would have learned while listening).

So now, he is not fluent but this progress has given us confidence. He mostly talks in Hindi but uses English words here and there.

Now the most difficult part - We are moving to US in coming 3-4 months and he will be eligible to join Nursery there. Our biggest concern is how will he able to manage with 100% Engligh there? Though he understands more than he talks but still being into an all together new place, what steps can we take as parent to make sure he feels comfortable there as well?

kids fitness through play and games
since i have been training young kids for motor skills and fun fitness for a while i see that kids develop most of their sports movements then and as early as 4 years. parents need to be aware that forcing kids into sports at a very early age will not get them far, as they end up losing interest quickly. ... - Sunny Singh [View Message]
