I weigh around 65 kilos and my height is 5 feet 5 inches. My goal weight is 55 kilos. So to attain my goal I need to shed away 10 kilos. I have read in detail about Atkins and I would like to opt for it. Currently I am consuming veggies, fruits, breads, cakes, burgers and pizzas in my diet. I think I have to sacrifice on burgers and breads and such other food stuffs to lose weight. I have some doubt regarding the Atkins diet. I am a non-vegetarian but I do not have meat frequently. Are there any recipes that are low carbs but vegetarian? Can I have diet coke or diet soda while following this diet? I think a good Atkins diet recipe book will help me out. I am ready to go on diet but I will need high motivation to stick on to it.

I went on Atkins diet five months back and the results are encouraging. I lost about 5 kilos and attained my desired weight. Atkins diet is good as you can reach at your desired weight by following some simple rules. The best part is you do not have to stop having meat and cheese. I personally I can not do without cheese. I love cheese vegetable rolls. I prepared my entire diet plan describing each stage and duration. I did stick to my diet plan and now I am in the last phase of Atkins diet which is lifetime maintenance. As I am following each and every rule of the Atkins diet I have been successful in maintaining my weight.

It is not necessary that only overweight or obese people should follow Atkins diet. People with normal weight can also go on an Atkins diet to stay fit and healthy. You can easily follow Atkins diet if you love meat and eggs a lot otherwise it is not vegetarian friendly diet. I love chicken. I include eggs in my breakfast and chicken breast in my lunch. For dinner I usually go for seafood. I love Atkins as I can eat food that I like the most. I can eat chicken at any point of time. So Atkins is not difficult to follow for me. I am not overweight but I wanted to maintain my weight. I omitted induction stage and directly started with second phase.
