Role of in-laws:PLS.... HELP ME A WAY OUT!!!!!

Hi Everyone....
This my second post in this forum.. I am facing tremendous problem with my MIL as she is a very stubborn n wicked lady, who has come to stay with us ( hubby n Myself) from a different city after our marriage( 3 yrs),leaving her own household. She is almost successful in settling down in my family unit but even then i had no issues on that. Since My FIL is no more n my SIL is married n stays in a diff Metro.

But ever since MIL has entered my house she has created problem 4me. In d initial days of marriage n even 1 1/2 yrs after that she taunted me abt my parents, my way of conduct n everything she felt was nt not to her liking. She even involved her own sister who stays in same city, her SIL in my family matters. It was as if my house is a dharamshala where any1 can walk in & say anything against me n gossip when i am out for work in d office. She even involved the maids whomever i hired into this in our absence. N she continues doing the same for last 3yrs.She behaves that its her house n she wants 2b in control n power of everything. We have repeatedly spoken 2her calmly on this...but things haven' t changed a bit.
Now i have a 6month old baby n i have 2leave him in d house for work.i am really tensed abt wat more wll happen my absence. She has spoiled one aayah to such an extent that she even started gossiping against me wen i am out of the house. I had caught her red-handed n asked her to leave. But had to hire sum1 else now 4d baby. Wenever I speak 2d maids to do sum work she repeats the same commands once again after me n tries to show every1 that she is the lady of the house. I kept quite for long 2 yrs but my silence was taken as me being ’’chhupa rustom’’. I have stared voicing protest only wen things were too worse n I stayed in d house availing my maternity leave….

I cant leave my job. Cant go to my parent’s as they stay far away in a diff city n my HUBBY Loves me a lot.. But tell me how shud I handle this menace…….PLS Help!

Right now your priority is to raise your kid giving her/him the best. For that you should work and someone shd take care of the kid at home. So keep quiet like how you used to be before, and don' t show anything in words. if shez repeating what you say to the maid, so be it. whats the big deal if you are getting a good care for your kid in return. i know its a big torture that you are undergoing, but take care of your priorities. Again these kind of ppl make me repeat the proverb \" Empty minds are devil' s workshop\" . so its not your MIL, but a devil sitting there commanding her moves. Employ a younger girl as a maid, who won' t care much about the gossips (under 20 unmarried girls wont pay a damn to these DIL-MIL fights), ask her to assist your MIL, praise ur MIL for taking care of ur kid (though its all artificial) and stay on.
think that you are doing all this for the sake of your hubb and kid. you have multiple roles to play - mother, wife and employee - do justice to these. think abt how can u make ur work better and monitor ur kid' s developments closely. Don' t care abt these petty things which dont matter to you. Take care..

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. We were both wo... - Tina Shah [View Message]
RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
stop your negative thinking towards your mother in law, she is your son grand mother too, so if she gave some sweet like sugar to him its just because of her love towards him.... - reshma [View Message]
