Behavioural Problems:how to teach kid to deal with friends
2006-01-15
Name: seema

My daughter is 3 yrs old.

I have observed with some kids, when they play together and have a fight, they become little violent - bite/slap/push/hit/etc.

In my family we have never beat up the child. This type of behavior is new to her. My daughter has often complained to me about such behavoir of her friends, and has a few times cried when she was hit by other kids.

I dont want to teach my child violence. I dont want to teach her that if someone slaps you, you also slap him/her. But I dont want her to get dominated or fear about such things or run away from the situation. I want her to face it in a bold way, not fear, manage it herself, and yet do the right thing.

How should such a situation be handled? What should I ask my kid to do at such times? Please suggest.
