We started giving my daughter Gerber 3rd food when she was around 9-10 months and she hated the coarse texture. We stopped and did not give her for another couple of months and after she was one year old, I slowly introduced textured food and she now takes it well. Initally I used to blend dal-rice, khichadi but now I over-cook so its soft. I think, at certain age the kids are just ready to eat textured food and accept easily.

Hi,

Do not worry at all. Some kids are more sensitive to texture. She is only 9 months old and her gag reflex is still strong. It is a protective thing and will prevent choking from big things.

Take it slow. Don't worry if you see other kids of the same age eating textured food. My nephew ate blended food till he was 3!! Now he eats like the rest of us.

Start textured food after sometime.

Good luck, Aarti
