sorry posted the msg before completing.

5) just to quench the sweet craving, once in a while I prepare sooji kheer or halwa with equal sugar for my inlaws
6) Bitter gourd curry - wash the bitter gourd, cut and soak in salt and turmeric for 4 hours, wash again and prepare a dry curry with normal seasoning. This wud be good to eat with chapatis (phulkas are the best).
Fibrous vegetables are best suited for such patients. Beans, clustered beans, greens, cabbage are good for them. So I normally make dry curries of these. Eating only boiled veggies(any of the above) with salt and slight seasoning can also be a meal.
7) Diabetic patients should be eating something once in 5 hours during the day time. Its better they do not fast or miss their meals.
8) Diabetic patients should take care of their body, especially should not bruise themselves. It takes longer time to heal and in case of a bruise, doctor´ s advise should be taken.
9) Regular checkups with the doctor and the blood sugar test is a must.
10) Diabetic patients should also take care of their weight. Overweight people
are normally advised to reduce their weight first to keep the blood sugar in control.

disclaimer: Am just sharing my experience here and doctor´ s advise should be seeked for specific cases and reasons.
