my son is 2years 8 months. he says very few words, responds to whatever we say. loves to watch movies. he clearly calls amma expresses himself verbally when he has to urinate. he is not still speaking in full sentences. is there something to worry? shalini replied. yr, thanks for those encouraging words. i try to read stories & teach him to tell words. he says NO and closes the book & runs away. he just wants to see movies. as soon as he gets up in the morning he goes & switches on the Tv & selects whatever dvd he wants to watch. what do i do? yr replied. shalini,
kids will learn to talk more only when u keep talking and keep talking to them. the more u talk to them they will also try speaking. i used to talk to my son so much from the time he was born, though i knew he cant really understand what exactly i'm talking. even though he was not able to respond much since he was too small i still used to talk to him and explain what i do to him, i would ask him what he likes and that way i used to keep talking and talkig to him. now my son is 2 yr 9 mths old and he talks so much... it all depends on how u treat him. dont assume that he cant understand since hes' small.. u should always ask what he likes, what he wants to do, u should tell him what u do to himm, even though he;s not responding u ask him which colour he likes to wear etc. only then he'll start respondidng adn will try to talk like u.. and copy u....
