Name: Karthik Prasad

Hi, Thanks for reading this post. My son who has just turned 3 has not yet started to speak completely - he is very smart and intelligent and very active. He is due to go to school next month and I want to accelerate. Can you please suggest some home exercises/activities/remedies for me/my wife to make him speak? This is our first child so we really dont know what to do!!
Please help
Regards
Karthik

Hi,

When you say not talking..check and see if he can understand everything you say.does he answer questions like what is this..apple..who is this?daddy.how does his needs get met?have you asked your Childs doctor regarding this?kids should be talking in full sentences by this time..at least at home with you.how many words can he say can he repeat what you say?you can consult a speech therapist who can give you more information.I know boys talk later..but you should not wait too much and waste time..since he will be going to school.

Hi! Rupa is right. It would be better that problem is detected as early as possible so that intervention can be undertaken. My daughter is diagnosed to have Mixed Receptive and Expressive Language Delay with concomitant behavioral concerns. I have created a blog to document all her activities. I have also shared home activities taught by her SPED teacher to encourage speech. Feel free to visit: babyrian-speechdelay.blogspot

kids fitness through play and games
since i have been training young kids for motor skills and fun fitness for a while i see that kids develop most of their sports movements then and as early as 4 years. parents need to be aware that forcing kids into sports at a very early age will not get them far, as they end up losing interest quickly. ... - Sunny Singh [View Message]
