Bowel and Bladder Movements:problem passing stool

hi,
my baby is 17 mths.she is a constipated baby by birth but from few from she was passin her stools regularly n ok but from last week her belly is swelled hard n passing stools very little n too hard.i had stopped giving her potatoes,rice,apples but still she is havin hard times.can any body help........

Try feeding your baby prunes. I find that feeding my son prunes regularly (a tablespoon everyday) helps him pass stools without straining.

Subject:  Black grape juice/puree



Hi ,

My baby is 5 months old and I give him black grape juice ( soaked overnight and strained) . Also my mom-in-law made some oil from coconut milk and that really worked for him.

I think you should try some traditional remedies.

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
