Hi jayshree,
The child would have been used to holding hands while writing,This has an impact on his confidence levels of writing independently.start with lot of scribbling.give him papaers and lot of colourful stuff.appreciate his cribbling work.after gaining interest ask him to write alphabets with crayons. allow him to write dont both about the formation.once he gets confidence his work is appreciated he would love to write. everybody wants a sense of worth and self esteem. dont be harsh on him if he is not writing well.appreciate every writing work of his.this should solve the prob.

Hi Jayshree, I can understand your concern for your son.. ...I have noted that kids love to imitate elders..specially parents... does your son see you writing things... maybe the grocery list, or a letter or filling some bank forms... the idea is to make him understand what all he can do if he learns to write. Play games enacting to work in an office, writing...or create, big dotted lines for him to join and make alphabets. But yes...forcing a 4 year old may not be a gud idea...he may not like to write as an assignment, but you can try to develop his interest in writing, by asking him to write...BIG on a balckborad with colored chalks or on rough sheets of paper with crayons, just to develop his interest. Does he like to draw or scribble, then he shud soon find writing too interesting.
You can rather ask his teachers to suggest some ways to develop his interest.... they are supposed to be trained to handle such issues.
All the best !!

kids fitness through play and games
since i have been training young kids for motor skills and fun fitness for a while i see that kids develop most of their sports movements then and as early as 4 years. parents need to be aware that forcing kids into sports at a very early age will not get them far, as they end up losing interest quickly. ... - Sunny Singh [View Message]
