Working Mother:Guilt
2007-02-22
Name: Ekta Sinha

Hi,

I feel so guilty that I work and I dont spend all my time with my 1 year old.

I think I want to leave work and take care of my child , but I always backout as I feel that I will lose out on all my years of hard work to reach my position in my career. And this conflicting feeling makes me feel so selfish.

I feel that I am a failure as a mom as I dont give her enough time.

hi ekta,

i am also having 9month at home..and i too go through this pain almost daily..but i would still insist that we are not selfish...u could have been called selfish if your baby is crying out of hunger and you are watching TV or resting...u could have called selfish if you would have gone to Beauty parlour leaving baby to your maid....but working for our accomplishment could not be claimed as selfish...

would you love, if your baby once grow up...instead of joining some good company which might take him to other city for being with you....

This is life sweetie.. and This too shall pass
