Hi all.
I am a software enginner and my husband got an offer from a s.w comp in US(not onsite offer,but US comp).I have a 1yr old baby boy.I want to know how is the life in US with baby.I will have to resign my job n go,so i will be at home.Can anyone tell me how the travelling,like if i wanna go out alone with the baby,creche or playschools,will i get any wrk from home option job..we are planning to be there for 1 or 2 yrs only.
Basically all about life with baby in states esp Bay area..I dont wanna go there n end up in trouble,my hubby has asked me to decide to go or not.
US ladies please reply..n help.. A replied. sorry i forgot to mention that now im back in India.
So here i dont have any prblms i keep my baby in a creche.
It depends on which place u will be . The place we were in, there for even getting a small thing u need to have a car. So till i didnt get my licence i was full day at home cud not go out till my husband was back . But in some other places the public conveyance is quite gud ...u can easily take a bus and roam around.

I am also a software engineer and 2 yrs back i was faced with similar situation but i didnt have a baby that time.
C it all depends on you and how u take ur being at home. I was happy and enjoying for some 6 months but after that all that was getting on my nerves. Specially when ur frenz back at home keep asking you \" wot u do the whole day?\" , \" Dont u get bored?\" , \" What are u planning about ur job?\" . All these question really make u feel miserable. Our society is such that if an educated girl wants to stay at home they will keep bugging her asking day and nite about her job and if she doesnt stay at home they will keep bugging her saying that look she is not taking care of her home her child her husband ...so first of all accept this fact that its not going to be all rosy in US. Now the question of work frm home - without a valid work visa ur are not allowed to earn even a single cent. But surely some desi companies and consultants have come up with a way of giving u some work for a salary which they will give u in cash. But trust me its too much of a risk. Then are some freelancing sites which have projects listed on them but some how i never got that much of drive of taking a project and doing it deligently, all depends on ur attitude. About the creche and playschool thing i dont have much of an idea.
As u said that ul be in Bay area im sure if u have some contacts with the desi consultants or some of ur frenz who are there thru some of such consultants .....i guess u will be able to manage some kind of work. And if u want to work full time why dont u apply for ur H1 also. The acceptance applications are going to start from 1 April. Frankly i tried that also but with the kind of rush for H1 ...the visas kind of disappear in no time.

Im in no way trying to say that its going to be very difficult there , but this is wot a faced and am sharing my experiences with u.
