Name: minu

my son is close to 9 yrs ,he is in 4th grade.my problem is he is very arrogent and will not study and listen to the parents.he will be teasing his sister too who is younger to him.he wont take my help in studies and he cannot study on his own, because he has got very less marks in all subjects in maths he failed too. what really bothers me is why is he giving back answers and wont study ? if teacher asks to do math home work from text book he just does all useless on his own which looks like cheating himself and also the teacher .he is not bothering to listen. his granny also interfers in his studies when iam trying to teach him or making him to sit and study.granny doesnt know anything ,cause she is not even 10th passed.my son always wants her to sit besides her and study some 'falthu' where she cannot understands anyway .besides she tells him to do this that even though iam trying to help my son ,i understood that he is taking support of her so that i wont say or scold before her.i dont even know how to explaain how its going but my worry is my son ,does he need any conselling ? please help me.

Subject:  same with my kid

HI Minu,
I am also a worried mom. My kid is also somewhat similar. He is also 9yrs old. He is very poor in studies, not interested in anything. He just loves to spend time happily by playing and watching Cartoons. He can't even play any game with interest for more than 15 minutes. He keeps loosing things at school. He is jsut not bothered about his things. Does'nt have any discipline and manners. As parents, we keep teaching him evertime and he does'nt make it a point to remember them always. He does'nt listen when we tell him politely. We will have to yell or scare him loudly. ONly then, he listens, otherwise he does'nt listen at all. He is very very slow in any thing. We parents are really worried about him. When will he change. Please share your views.
