I have a 10-mth old breastfed daughter who needs to regain 2 pounds lost during the past couple of months. Anyone who has had such a case and has been successful in gaining weight more than usual at this age? :) Any tips THAT HAVE ACTUALLY WORKED will be appreciated. Thanks.

hi

i am a breast feeding mother of 10 mth old son. he is now 11kgs. luckily i seem a good weight gain in his growth.
maybe i will share you my feeding pattern with you.
i give him formula thrice a day, 6am, 4:30pm and 9:30pm.
for breaskfast, i feed him ragi or oats porridge with juice
then for lunch, dhal with rice, veggie, curd rice.
i give him rice or wheat cereal with yoghurt for dinner.
i breast feed him inbetween while making him to sleep, thats it.
hope it helps you. don't worry, surely your daughter will gain weight.

also share with me her activities at this stage.

Hi Mathura,
Could you please let me know how to make Ragi and Oat porridge. My 13 month daughter does not eat solids at all and takes only 12-15 oz of mild a day. I need to help her gain weight.

My son is also 10th months old and under weight. Your pattern of feeding and mine is almost same. I am concerned How much formula do you give in each feeding?

Waiting for reply

Hi

Wow! That's a good weight for your son.
I appreciate your inputs and will see if my daughter likes ragi.
She is quite an active baby - I suppose 10 mths is a very fun age - they are quite the performers, aren't they? Mine loves to learn new tricks (like the peacock-song we have in Marathi :), showing body-parts, imitating all silly sounds and words, silly dancing, catch-me/hide-seek games etc). She is also crazy about books (can go through a complete board-book with great concentration on her own - pointing at pictures when I'm around etc) and dogs! :)
She is interested in toys for short periods of time (likes container-play nowadays) and more in exploring the cupboards, pulling down stuff etc. (she is almost walking now - takes couple of steps alone).

Best wishes.
