Hello me-me,
Today i read your mail to Deepu.
How come you say that you think you have no worth..
look how you have guided Deepu.. isnt that a gr8 thing. Doesnt that make you so much worthy.
and also i think your writing skills are gr8.
wish you all the best. i really appreciate your coming out of crisis and not only that you are helping all of us here.
I am sure your sensitive and caring for others like an angel will pay off and you will lead a life full of love and joy.

Hi Shelly,

Hmmm I don't mean to sound like I can only see myself in a negative light. I mean, ok yes, I don't really see myself as special or important. I think that I have had some great challenges but I got through them and have been blessed with such wonderful gifts. I have 2 lovely children and another on the way, financially we're doing quite well, I have a husband that is supportive and loving... I look at my life and wonder how I deserved it all.

It is hard to forget all the bad things my family told me, deep down I am the worthless stupid person they told me I am. I still believe these things but, and there is always a but, although as a person I am not worth a great deal I do understand that to others I can seem more.

If I have a kind word for someone I know one day those kind words will be passed onto another and then another and another. Should I smile and cause another to smile, they will do the same and so it goes on. Does that make sense? Eventually if so many smiles and bad words are being passed around and increased there will never be a need for anyone to say bad things to or about another. I know I sound a sentimental old fool but the world is filled with negative words, deeds and energies. How can that be combatted by any other means but doing the oposite?

Its good Karma my husband says, but I do it without the intention of ever getting it back. If that smile or kind word is never revisited upon me then so be it, I know it will have reached someone who truly needed it. Call me an ideaologist if you will but it is my philosophy. One day children wont have to hear horrid things from those who should love them most, one day noone will hurt another by word or deed and somehow, some way, I'd like to be a part of that greater good.

Thank you for your post Shelly. I love this forum, it does break my heart that there are so many people here with problems but then again it is so lovely that there are others who can give a kind word and some advice. Ifsomething I say can help another thats wonderful, they may pass that on... Who knows this forum might one day be about the excellent In Laws people have rather than about the nasty ones. One step at a time...

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
