Hi Priya,

My little one is 9 months old now, i can understand what u're going through, i used to freak out the same way, but trust me its perfectely ok if the baby doesn't pass any stool for 2 -3 days as far as when the pass it, it should not be hard.

Yes, Naveena is very correct about Prune Juice, but ur baby is just 1 month old, U need to wait somemore time before u can start on that, and when u start it say by the time she is 2 - 3 months old, take 1/2 an ounce an dilute it with little water.

Do let me know abt the baby how's ur little one doing, hope I can be of some help.

Thanks

but I figured the problem.. I was giving her Enfamil powder made formula and then we purchased the pre-prepared formala and used that for one time since the powder was over. This caused this problem....
After that she was perfectly alright and I solved the problem by using gripe water and also breast feeding her a lot like almost every 11/2 hrs.

My daughter is also gassy and I give her gripe water for 2 times a day without fail and now she passes 3 bowel movements without fail.

At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi there please be calm and relax as it happens sometime the child takes little time to start walking or crawling also but in your case the child should have started crawling if not walking.... - Anita [View Message]
