Role of in-laws:Please Help

I am going to India and I am 3 months pregnant (long time after marriage).I am traveling alone.
My parents are going to receive me in India. Every year whenever I go there I go to my in-law's house first and my MIL sends me hardly for four to five days to my parents house. But my married SIL is staying with her parents (my in-laws) from 4 yrs. with her kids & husband. Even she taunts me if I stay with my parents for 4-5 days. She doesn't even goes to her house for special occasion also. This time my parents want me to stay with them first (because I will be tired after the long journey) but my MIL called them and said she will not allow me to stay there. Actually I am going to India to help my MIL with something which she can't take care of. Their behavior just frustrates me. What should I do?

Dear Suchita
This is appaling!!! You are pregnant with your child after a long time and ur husband does not find it to be more imprtant than finding a match for his sister?
Lady! stand up for what is right! Of course hats off to ur courage! but you have to put yourself first in this instance. You and ur kid are more important than anything else in this world! If ur MIL her daughter and Son IL cannot find a match for ur second SIL u are no body to butt in .......
anywasy take care of ur self and be strong, and never say \";its ok\"; to any bad behaviour.......

a)Please dont travel to India in this condition .
b) If you cant avoid it then please go straight to your parents house . You are NOT doing it for yourself but for the baby who is totally dependent on you for existence .
c) People can be so selfish is appaling . Dont be selfish to your baby by bending to your MIL's unreasonable demands . Standup and refuse for the sake of your baby .
Please !!!

Dear dear Suchita...
Am I reading this right? You mean you are travelling during your pregnancy to find a match for your SIL...Forgive me, but this is preposterous...
What are you supposed to do...how can you get her married???
Are you planning to have your baby in India or planning to come back...
Listen darling, cant you confide in your docter and make her tell your husband that it would not be advisable for you to travel. Trust me, even Americans are used to such IL drama...
and if you must go, then stay put at your parents place. If your husband or IL's ask tell them that your doc in India has advised you total rest...
I dont think anyone will take care of your health at your IL's place so you have to be alert yourself. They are terribly selfish to ask you to travel for such a frivolous venture...and you my dear are such an innocent to comply.
I hope you will think this over and not get influenced by such selfish and silly people. I know its safe to travel for most of the pregnant women but to travel for such a reason!!!
Take care dear and keep me posted...

I think it's too late. I am flying today. But I will be in touch with you.
Once again thank you and I will take care of myself. I am strong enough to do that rather this baby has made me strong.
Bye for now.

Suchita, Congrats on the new arrival...:)
It must be something terribly important for you to travel to India during your pregnancy but whatever it is, should not compromise the health and safety of your baby and you.
You should rest and stay at your parents house as much as possible. Do your parents and IL's live in the same city, if yes then you should stay at your parents to be more comfortable. If your MIL feels otherwise, then its her problem...
You said you have conceived after a long time after marriage...dear dont do anything which will not be in favour of your baby's good health...
If your MIL/SIL throw a tantrum..let them, is there anything more imp than your baby...

Please take care...

Subject:  Nothing is Imp than my baby

Hi friend,
Nothing is important to me than my baby which I have conceived after lot of requests to my hubby. He didn't want the baby because he wanted to raise my SIL's kids (who is staying with us in India) as our own. I also treat them as my own kids and had prepared my mind that I will not be having a baby. Now my hubby wants me to go and help finding a match for my second SIL which I am ready to do.My parents and my ILs stay in different cities. But I don't understand this discrepancy. Why can't people treat their DILs as their own daughters? if not daughters like a living human being with a heart and a mind?

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]
