Bowel and Bladder Movements:Frequency of potty has increased since last 2 mths

hi friends,

I live in mumbai but am currently in Noida at my mom' s place. I am here since last 1 month. Last time when i came to noida in the m/o march, my mom' s house was getting painted. My daughter who was then 10 months, got very high fever on the 5th day of the trip. She started getting fits in the night...and was taken to the emergency of the hospital. Doctor said that 40 of the children aged between 6 mths to 6 yrs get fits in high fever. She got stomach infection due to which she got fever. The stomach infection was treated by antibiotics. I returned to Mumbai after 1 week of her getting well but just after 2 days she again got very high fever and doctor there said that the infection relapsed and was again given antibiotics. She got well after a week but her frequency of bowel increased. She now does potty for 5-6 times a day. As per doctor advice, we got her stool test done and all seems to be fine but I think 5-6 potty a day in too much. She does potty after every feed. The color, consistency and quantity of the stool differs all the time. At time, its semi solid (mostly)then very loose, then solid.

I don' t know if its normal or there is some problem. Could be her metabolism has improved......i don' t know but I am worried.

She is otherwise very very cheerful, very playful and very happy child. Had there been any infection or any problem, she should be cranky, irritable but she is doing good. Except she doesn' t sleep properly during night.

please advice. I am very tensed now a days.

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
