What are the different aspects to be kept in mind when choosing a preschool for a child? Ofcourse, one should look financially if the school expenditures are affordable or not. Apart from that aspect what are the different aspects?
Please let me know about them.

Is it true that the higher the tuition, higher is the standard?

Subject:  What to look for in a preschool

Hello Friend,
I have a background in Early Childhood, this is my current major.

I would tell you and all parents that are considering preschools for your child to consider the following:

1. teacher/child ratio--how many children are in the care of a teacher. The smaller child/teacher ratios can be a plus, usually, the quality is better, your child is able to be given more attention when needed.

2. the school's reputation--get references of parents that have used this preschool.

3. look at the school itself to see if it looks like a friendly, inviting place.

4. there should be enough toys for every child to fully enjoy, the toys should be safe, age appropriate.

5. look into the current classes and see how the teachers are interacting with the children.

A higher price does not always mean higher quality, however, you would come to expect a lot more as you pay more.

Ideally, a preschool classroom should have bright colors, cheerful teachers, music, singing, indoor and outdoor activities...

It would be advisible to look at the length of time the teachers have worked there.

A teacher should truly love working with small children and have lots of patience.

If you would like to know more detail; please ask me, I will be thrilled to answer all questions in this area.

Nina

Subject:  Choosing a school....

Hi,
I would like some advise on choosing a school.
i live in africa and am not keen to send my son to the indian school here.
the other alternative is a school with predominantly african children and a few asians. my son is 5 yrs.
do you think it will be a very difficult adjustment for him - or very difficult for him to relate?
would really appreciate a reply.
thanks
