Problems in School:She's starting Kindergarten...

Hello Friends,
I'm a Mommy of 2 girls. My eldest daughter will begin Kindergarten in August. We reside in the U.S.

This is my first child, a girl...and yes, I'm so excited and anxious at the same time.

I feel she is well prepared for school, she knows the alphabet, she can spell her name, she knows the numbers well up to 30, colors, shapes, etc, etc, but, I just feel I'm missing something.

I guess it's probably what every mother goes through when her baby grows up and starts school, right?

She will be 5 years old next month.

For all of you parents out there, I would love to hear how you dealt with the \";First Day of School\"; and if you have any advice or questions, I would love to answer back.

Thank you,
nm

Its natural to feel worried about the first day of school. If your child is outgoing and friendly she will probably have no problems. If she clings to you, its all right, she will soon get used to going to school and making friends. My daughter cried on her first day of school, but was very happy after that. Kids will get caught up in the learning and forget to miss you a lot or feel scared. If you still have concerns , talk to the kindergarten teacher. It really helps to have a loving and understanding teacher.
It sounds like your girl is well prepared for school!
good luck

Dear Shalini,
I feel so relieved! Just your encouragement has given me an ease of mind.

Thank you...
My little girl seems so tiny to me, she is ready for school, but she's my baby, my first born and I guess that is why I have been so worried.

I will try to meet with the teacher on the 16th of next month; that is the orientation day.

My girl is very friendly, very outgoing...that does give me some comfort also.

Thank you and I will let you know how it goes,
