mandeep replied. Never Ever use eculuptus on skin or in bath. these type of oil should not touch the body as they can cause reaction or even burn the skin.u can inhale them have some drops on paper tissue or handkerchief and keep it, away from kids where they can' t touch them. i use karvol oil which i put 6 -7 drops on paper tissue ( easy to throw u dont have to wash them) n hang it on door handle.
mandeep replied. Take ur daughter to doc again n tell him to check her again n if there is any infection then only he will give u antibiotic. my son was same in Oct last year i took him to doc , he says just a normal cold n cough, then again after 2 weeks same reply. so come mid of november i took him again n he had tonsilts an antibiotic was given to him n he was sorted out in week or so. u have to go to doc again n again. plus in the morning hive her honey in lukewarm water that will help in sorting her cough with this keep a pan of water in the room next to radiator as too much heating is also not good at this time at night.Where r u in Uk i am in Scotland (east coast) with all this give here wheat halwa made in ghee or unsalted butter as that will also help.if she has blocked nose n difficult to sleep u can buy karvol oil from boots that is very helpfull.
hope this is any help.
Aradhana replied. Hi Krishna..
Yes even here no medicines are prescribed for cough cold in the first 8-10 days. but if ur dd has been having cold n chest congestion for the past 2-3 months i think she needs medicine. Somehow i dont trust over the counter drugs from pharmists.. I dont know much abt the heathcare systems in the UK ,except that there is a lot of delay n burecacy there, but i think u need a good doctor. Who can prescribes something to relieve ur kid for her chest congestion. I guess the vomitting is due to that.
To can try using a lil eculuptus oil in her bath water or rub a lil euculuotis oil on her chest n arms of her dress while sleeping, for some relief.
For Rab, u need some whaet flour.. dry roast it till it is reb/browm in color n gives a frangrance, be careful not to rub it .u have to keep stirring it. (U cna add ghee here if u want)
In a vessel take some water.. add a lil jagerry to eat and boil till jagerry dissolves. u can add dry ginger powder(soonth) in it (It shuld be available a an indian store) else simply crush some ginger and add it to water. Once the flour is done , strain this water and mix it in the flour, stirring continously as to avoid lumps. Ajust the consistency acc to the prefernce. Its done.
Sheera : take some rava/semolina.. fry it in a lil ghee.. add some water and sugar.. let it cook.. add milk and adjust consistency. Done
Take care.. and id say get another doctor

Aradhana replied. I very well understand your frustration. I went thru the same and its very human to get frustrated. But you must remember that your frustration and anxieties will pass on to ur child, even if you dont show it. They can read ur body language. So u have to be calm while trying to feed ur child. Ur dd should be able to express her needs now, so u can ask her when she is hungry n then feed her , also ask her her prefences.
But in the first place, she has to be healthy to have an healthy apetite. If she is suffering from a chest congestion, chances are, whatever u do she wont eat much. this is because there a lack of apetite when she is sick also she must be finding it difficult to swallow. Maybe thats why she is vomitting her food out. I hope u are not forcing her to eat. It can have adverse effects. Is she undergoing treatment for her cold and cough etc? have u checked with the doctor why she is vomitting? Hope she dosent have a reflux problem.
I would suggest give her stuff that is easier to swallow when she is unwell. I make a porridge for my dd when she has a cold with Rava, very much like Sheera but with lots of milk .. so its like a beverage and easier to drink. Also i make rab for her..which is again made of wheat and semi solid state. Add some dry ginger powder to her food or milk.. thats good for cold. Also tumeric in milk is excellent, only its diff to get them to drink it, Caroom seed(ajwain) boiled in water.. give that water. For some relief rub vicks on her chest and back.
Regarding apetite stimulants, there are many, my doc prescribed CYP-L , then Mel has mentioned Mimorange. BUt i would suggest do not give anything with consulting ur doc. As each child is different and each condition is diff. We dont know what the child is going thru so without complete knowledge its not asvisable to be ur own doctor.
Take care and let me know if u need something more. stay happy
