Dear vijaya

I donot think so that you are overfeeding your daughter. The daily diet seems just alrite. Even the milk intake seems rite. My doc always insisted on cutting down his milk intake for reducing his weight. and mind it my son used to drink a lot more than your daughter. I never ever reduced his milk intake. What i did was instead of full cream milk i gave toned milk. Went slow with ghee and fat content(doesn' t mean that i cut it out). Also cut down his baby food completely...gerber and cerelac kind. Instead went in for normal food. I won' t say this reduced the weight but yes his weight has kind of become stable. Since ur daughter is 15 months old....i guess the weight gain would slow down considerably.

Last don' t think much about the weight issue. I assure u its not worth the pain we take. Some babies are that way only ...little on the heavier side..that doesn' t mean they arn' t healthy. About the night time feed, you donot cut it..your daughter would decide when she wants to cut it....till then continue.
be happy and donot worry
love and luck

Vijaya, I don' t care what the doc says, your daughter is NOT OVERWEIGHT. Your doctor is NUTS ! Please check height and weight charts for girls before taking ANY measures to make her lose weight.
Try this link. Enter your daughter' s weight in pounds (kilos multiplied by 2.2), height and head circumference. and it will show you the results. It will show you that your daughter is within the correct weight for her age. Please don' t put such a small child on restricted eating. Let her have her night feed as long as she wants and don' t cut down on milk. Some children have a good metabolism and consume more. If she is not sloppy... if she is active and plays well and is developing normally, then LET HER BE. This is the link. Some of my friends babies weigh 10 kgs at 10 months, but the doc says it' s ok since they are tall babies, so their bones are heavier and theor overall weight is more. Find a new doctor and get a second opinion. Go to google and type children' s weight charts for girls, you will get many links. There is also an Indian site called peadtricsoncall. You can go there, enter your daughter' s data and see for yourself that she is within the normal range for her weight.

Thanks for the reply. Here is her diet chart.
8 am-cornflakes/oats/egg/bread
11 am fruit/biscutes
1 pm kichidi/ veg fried rice/rice with some curry+curd
4 pm 6 oZ milk
6 pm apple
7.30 pm maggie/pongal/chapati soaked in dal
10 pm 6 oZ milk

Night she gets up 2-3 times and consumes another 10 oZ milk. Doctor says I have to cut down this night time feeding. Doc says 250 ml is enough and if i cut down on milk there will some difference.

Thanks
