Problems in School:will my child get bullied in school?
2000-12-11
Name: worried mother

My child is not very strong. He often gets bulliedin the housing society. He cannot fight for himself, be it a lost pencil or a stolen chocolate. I want to know if I can make him strong in some way. I fear that he will not be able to cope with peer pressure at home.

Children do not remain the same everyday of their life. A bully may turn very docile. A shy child must become a public speaker. A loud crybaby may turn out to be goodlooking film star. Therefore, there is no point worrying about the school time now. Let that time come, then the child will unfold his own defence mechanism.

A child should be give some confidence while dealing with such problems. He can be even taken to a psychiatrist. But first judge the situation yourself. May be it is all a creation of your mind, and he is just fine. May be you have just seen him once while getting dominated. So, that does not mean he does not bully others. So, take a while to judge. Recheck and crosscheck your childs mind as a thirdparty.

I have immense confidence in school environment. It will bring in changes in the child. It is a wonderful institution. And you will not even know when the change will come.
