Hi,

I have an 18 month old and wanted to know if I can feed him ragi porridge with the regular ragi flour/nachni available in stores. Do I need to strain the atta or is unstrained fine as well now.

Any ragi recipe will be a boon for the bad cook that I am!

Thank you!
S M

Ragi is very healthy, u can soak ragi & flax seeds (helpful for cold) it overnight. Morning u can churn it in a mixer & get the white milky liquid by straining it. Then put it to gas on low flame, add jaggrey instead of sugar, milk & badam powder (if digestable by the baby) That' s what I do for my 15 mths baby since he was 6 mths.

Of course ragi is good for babies. I m giving this to my son since he was 8 months. He is 15 now.

You can prepare Ragi kheer by adding milk and sugar/sweet to the powder and cooking it untill a semi fluid consistency. I use it unstrained. It acts as a fibre and helps for easy motion.
