Hi all,

I have got a toothbrush and tooth paste meant for toddlers.

My daughter has 4 upper and 3 lower teeth and she is 13-1/2 month old.

How much qty of toothpaste to be taken on the brush and what is the correct procedure to clean the teeth?

Is there any harm if she gulps the toothpaste as it is difficult to teach them rinsing at this stage?

She takes iron supplements and so her teeth are little brownish black, so I have to clean her teeth.

Mahieka Sameera replied. You have to use a non-floride toothpaste until baby reaches the age when he/she learns to gargle and spit out. Use a pea sized amount of toothpaste and up-down movements to brush. Use a damp washcloth or small face towel to clean over the teeth after brushing to get rid of any excess. Yes she will swallow some but so long as its not floride based, its ok. prao replied. u can use a little salt water to brush the childs teeth.. make it mild or your child wont take it.. there is no harm even if the child swallows it..
u can dip the brush or cloth in salt water & run the childs tooth with it

u get a kind of brush which u fix to your finger which is very convinient for small children.. it' s sort of like a pen cap.. with the bristles on it...stick the cap on your finger and brush those tiny teeth.. available in all baby stores gauri replied. one ? on this one , wont haldi make teeth yellow in color? neelima replied. hi,
i think instead of a brush, you can use a cloth(guage).also instead of paste i suggest you use HALDHI.Only above 2 years,you can use a toothebrush.
