Hi,

My baby will complete 2 months tom.. My problem is she doesnt take proper feeding.. She is on formula.. While drinking from the bottle, at the same time, the milk comes out from her mouth.. therefore I am not able to guage exactly how much she drinks at times.. I usually makes 90 ml..

Some feeds she only takes 20 to 25 ml..

Before 2 weeks she was taking nicely but since two weeks she is creating this problem... feels like she is not interested to drink milk.. sometimes if the gap is more than 3 hrs also she doesnt cry for the milk.. her doctor says she is perfectly fine.... I have checked her up by the doc.. She weighs.. 3.500 kgs as on 18th feb.. 3 days before she will turn two... when born she was 1.940 kgs...

She is on NAN 1 and cos of some issues am not able to BF her..

I am really worried regaring her weigh gain.. and also how to stop the outflow of milk from her mouth during feeding... Please can anyone help me out.. Thanks in advance...

Regards,
June

since you have mentioned outflow fo the milk i think the problem is with the nipple that you are using she is not ocmfortable with that nipple try to change the size and quality, doesnt matter if you have to buy 2 -3 then gv her what suits her. try to do this

Hi,

Thanks for the reply..

Though I dont think bottle nipple is the problem.. cos at different times, she takes from the same bottle nipple nicely without dropping anything or only slightly but at others times she will just let the milk flow from her corner of her mouth when given with the same bottle nipple....

At times she just takes one ounce even if I give her after 2.5 or 3 hrs after the previous feeding..

Sometimes two feeding in a row she will take only one ounce.. I am really worried thinking she might not be getting hungry...? Why this is happening can anyone tell me?

Thanks..

check the hole of the nipple may be its too big for her and the flow of milk is too much for her to take, it happens when you breast feed too when the flow of milk is too mcuh baby is not able to suck that is when your are suppose to hold your breast with two fingers in crossed position like a scissor around your nipples while feeding
