Hi,my 1.8yr old behaves horribly whenever we go out for diner to somebody' s place.other children would be playing but he would be constantly crying and cling to me and would refuse to eat anything.pls suggest ways to handle this behavior!!!! vv replied. Very normal.. some kids are like this. little insecure when it comes to different ppl and social gatherings. best is to take them out to crowded places more often and make them feel its all part of life. Also if you want, put him in a playgroup for abt 1-2 hours per day so that he is not clingy. i hv done this with my daughter and it has started working out - though she is not at her best in social gatherings still. But 1.8 years is too early for a play group. Time is the best medicine - keep making him attend social gatherings and he will soon get used to it.
